It was inaugurated by the National Parks Administration on March 17, 1940. The building occupies the east wing of the Civic Center of San Carlos de Bariloche, a building complex declared a National Historic Monument.
It permanently exhibits replicas of the three most important works by Michelangelo Buonarroti: David, Pietà, and Moses, in original size and directly copied from the originals in Italy; also features the disco and microcinema Otto House Music and its merchandising and regional shops.
The Chocolate Museum is the newest of the museums and the first in South America. You can learn about the history of the product that has traveled the most worldwide since the discovery of America and has sweetened the palates of all cultures. Taste its story from origin to present, guided by a group of experts specialized in the sweetest product.
This museum was created by the Bariloche Paleontological Association, which aims to detect and preserve the fossil record of the region, especially the northwest area of Argentine Patagonia. Among the specimens is a complete ichthyosaur from Lotena Hill, which inhabited Jurassic seas 150 million years ago.
Located along the Circuito Chico, one of the recommended places to visit in Colonia Suiza. The first settlers, in the early 20th century, came from Switzerland and France, giving the place its characteristic style. They dedicated themselves to farming and building their family homes. One of these houses now houses the Old Settlers Museum, in a 1937 building.
The oldest fair in the city, located in a covered area at the intersection of Moreno and Villegas streets. Products from various categories are offered: cutlery, metal, porcelain, etc.

Situated on Moreno street, it offers an exhibition and sale of hand-spun and hand-dyed wool textiles made by artisans from villages and settlements of the Southern Line that are members of the Zuem Mapuche Cooperative (whose name means “make Mapuche”), which has operated for over 20 years expressing the cultural identity of the Mapuche people through their textiles.
